Life is Crazy and Busy.... But Totally Worth Every Second!

"The only rock I know that stays steady, the only instituation I know that works... is the family."

I love my life and my family. I have a wonderful hubby. He is an amazing father who puts his life on the line as a fire fighter and also a member of the local FEMA team. Our precious daughter is the love of our life and we have another bundle of joy on the way! We live in Virginia Beach... what could be better than that?!?

Our life since our daughter was born has been a crazy ride of ups and downs, but when I think back through the past 19 months, we have been blessed with such a little angel that I couldn't imagine anything being different. She had heart surgery when she was 9 months old (and everything went well - thank goodness for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter) and has Di Georges Syndrome. With some possible immunity problems that could occur during her infancy, we keep her out of daycare (per her pediatricians suggestion) which makes working full-time quite interesting. The hubby works every other day, 24 hour shifts, and those days I work my full-time public relations job from home. It is great being with her those days, but very difficult juggling work and watching a child at the same time.

Being married to a fire fighter is wonderful but interesting. It is such a noble profession - I couldn't imagine running into a burning building when everyone else wants to run out, but he does it and he is truly passionate about it. Every other day when he is at the station, it is just my daughter and I and soon to be one more, (which by the way, I am a bit freaked out to see how it will be juggling a toddler with a newborn child).

Throughout all of that, we try to enjoy the fun parts of life - traveling, going to sports events, the beach (which just happens to be right down the street), cooking out, playing cornhole, watching Grey's Anatomy and American Idol (my 2 simple pleasures) and of course spending time with family and friends - because why would we want to deal with all the craziness of life if we never got a chance to enjoy the best part of it?

As you can see, I think life and all that there is to do with it is just amazing, and there is so much to be thankful for (like I am for my hubby, little girl and her soon-to-be brother or sister). I started this blog so everyone else can get a little bit of enjoyment out of the simple things in life...and hopefully I can inspire you all to travel, have fun and enjoy life just a little bit more!
